Cat you are wise as always, but what may I ask are the ‘Fanny flutters’
Cat might not be aware that the way humans use English is different in different places, as Japanese cat mew like American cat. I think this is the case with ‘Fanny flutters’. In the U.K. Fanny means word that also means cat, (confusingly).
Cat recommends use discretion when consider meaning of 'fanny flutters'. Cat supposes that meaning in this particular case is actually relative *wiggles behind before pouncing*
Thank you for clarifying cat. We don’t have a term for the pre-pounce bum wiggle in the U.K. so we are deprived, but even our wild cats that live in the Scottish hills do it.
I found this on the YouTubes. They are not your direct ancestor - they are a split from the African wildcat, who were the cats that adopted humans sometime in the BCEs.
As for Valentine’s Day spicy - you can still breed with wildcats, if any take your fancy!
I thought it was butt-wiggle too. That's what I always called it with all the cats who've lived at me. So excited you can't hide it, but also gives you a good grip for best pounce.
English-speaking cats say Meow. Japanese-speaking cats (like in bathing video) say Nya.
My apologies. That was culturally insensitive to assume cats all wew the same. I know French cats “Ronroner” rather than purr, and I just asked Broukie what Welsh cats say and he said “miau”.
Most US English has made it across the sea enough to be used by U.K. speakers interchangeably ie garbage/ rubbish, butt/bum, bum/tramp, pissed/angry etc but fanny absolutely not.
Amazed again by Cat’s sharings—so wise, funny, so full of love for this world. Talkingcat88 was feeling a bit alone on day of candy and flowers, only surrounded by felines just waiting for THEIR special treats. Then Cat made us laugh, sit in our heart space, and embrace all the feelings. Happy Valentine’s Day to Cat and her precious human♥️♥️♥️
Cat, your advice is always good. Thank you for passing on wisdoms of dust bunnies. I am so much more respectful with the ones in my house since reading your work.
Bathing cats are (were) the famous Shironeko (=white cat) and younger brother Tora (=tiger). They were my favorite. There are many videos of them.
No, thank YOU - I look forward to seeing your pawprint amongst all the 'give me money/or buy this TODAY!' emails in existence. Yours are refreshingly human, adorable, wise, and humane! Again, ~ thank YOU for existing!

Anytime Cheese. Cat thought somewhat spicy double-entendre was relevant to Valentine's Day newsletter 😽
