Hello. This Cat.
Cat feel a kind of darkness surround lately. Nights grow longer. Airs feel cooler. Shadow grow larger. Cat become curious about darkness. Cat become curious about shadow.
Shadows...strange beings. Not light, not dark—something between. Shadow arrive when light cannot pass. Light hit thing—tree, wall, whiskers—light stop there. Behind thing, no light. That dark place? That shadow.
Shadow live on other side of light. Shadow only copy of thing that block light, like shape of paw or tail. Shadow not real thing...but also is there, somehow.
Shadow always follow. Go here, go there—shadow come too. Stretch long in morning, short in bright sun, big again at night. Shadow change, but always there.
What is shadow? Maybe it part of Cat, maybe not. Maybe it secret part, quiet, always close but hiding.
Cat’s eyes—built for shadows, built for night. Humans, eyes not for dark. Not for shadows. Cat eyes see much humans miss.
Cat’s eyes have rods. Rods mean see even small, small light. Light from stars, from far window, little sliver from street. Cat’s eyes go big, pull in all light—every bit. In darkness, Cat move, hunt, jump. When whole world quiet and still, Cat see all.
Colors? Cat cannot see as much. But movement—yes. Tiny twitch, smallest flick. Cat see, cat know. What human call darkness? To cat, not darkness. To cat, life there, even in dark stillness.
Human look, see empty shadow. Cat look, see something else. Shadows full of shape, tiny shift, hidden maybe. Shadow tell secrets, hold life quiet, waiting. Cat see mystery. Shadow alive.
Cat play with shadow—simple, fun at first. Light jump, dark move. Shapes twist, bend. Cat watch, maybe tap with paw. Little game.
But shadow...they stretch, stay close. They not just shape. Shadow hold things, things hidden, things pushed away. Play with shadow not for hiding, no. Play with shadow for getting close, seeing what they keep.
To play shadow is look closer. See what in dark. See whole, not just light. Maybe feel odd, yes. Maybe little...strange. But in quiet darkness, we learn: shadow also ours.
Cat have new learnings about what do during crunchy leaf times, come at end of Octobers. Cat learn if wait outside door and ask for trick or treat, will receive treat. Cat not want trick. Why ask for trick if not want? Cat want treat. Crunchy treats...

Thank you for playing, Cat 🐾
I love Cat's blog so much omg
ALSO CAT do you have political opinion on if black cats are bad luck? I personally do not think they are, for all cats are good luck since they are cats. Would like your say on the matter.
